Active Cutoff - Level Dependent

01 January 2016

Active cut-of headsets protect your hearing but still allow you to hear what is going on around you.

Great for:

  1. Hearing protection in intermittent noise.
  2. Situational awareness.
  3. Safety when working around moving vehicles.

With an active cut-off headset you can hold a normal conversation with those around you while for example hammering in a nail or shooting. Each hammer impact or shot fired is suppressed instantly but you can carry on the conversation. You will also be aware of the noise of vehicles moving behind you.

How it works
A small Mic on each ear cup relays sounds around you to small speakers inside the headset however the instant there is a noise above an unsafe level the electronics shut down the speakers and your ears are protected by the defenders.

The other important point is that the Cut Off systems operate in stereo so you still have directional hearing, an immense safety advantage when working near moving machinery.

Active Cut-Off can be enabled and disabled by a button on the headset. The amount of Cut-Off is adjustable also. With the level turned high it does give the effect of enhanced hearing.
