Radio Ony Transmits Briefly

10 November 2015

When the Transmit (PTT) button is pressed the radio only briefly transmits then stops. Some radios may beep at you as well to warn you of the situation.

This is usually the indication of a failing battery. The battery may have enough power to allow the radio to transmit for a second or so then the battery voltage drops below the level that the radios needs.

All radios will stop transmitting at this point, it is a built in safety feature to prevent the radio transmitting on some other random frequency.

The problem may be temporarily cured by putting the radio on charge for half an hour however it is usually a sign that the battery needs replacing.

Wildtalk can analyse batteries for you and tell you their exact remaining capacity. Please contact us for more information
