Improving Bike to Bike Range

DO

  • Carry the radio as high as possible. In backpack, tank bag or top box.
  • Mount the radio vertically, so the aerial is pointed skyward.
  • If you radio allows it then fit an external antenna. A dedicated bike antenna is ideal.

 

 

DON'T

  • Hide the radio under the seat (Unless you are using an external aerial).
  • Lay the radio on its side. The antenna should be vertical.
  • Allow the radio to get wet. Put it in a poly bag, bag opening downward.
