PMR 446 CTCSS Settings Icom, Motorola & Kenwood

To make radios from Kenwood, Motorola, Icom and other communicate they must be set up on the same Channel ANDCTCSS frequency/tone.
The channel numbering 1 to 8 is the same across all makes but the CTCSS frequencies are numbered differently by each manufacturer. Use the linked chart below to select the matching CTCSS frequency.
Avoid using the default CTCSS settings supplied in new radios, this will leave your radios open to interference from other users using theirs on default settings.
If you are unable to, or prefer not to change the default settings use knob positions in middle of the 1 to 16 range as these are much less commonly used.
