TK3000, TK2000 and TK3501 Randomly Beeping

05 January 2016

The TK3000, TK2000 and TK3501 can sometimes randomly beep. This is usually caused by the radio briefly powering off then on. It is caused by a loose battery or dirty battery terminals.

First check your radio is fitted with three foam spacers like the ones in the image below. If not contact your radio supplier for replacements..

Second, clean the battery terminals on both the radio and the battery. Use nothing more abrasive than writing / copier paper and polish them to remove any dirt of corrosion. Methylated spirits or Isopropyl Alcohol can be used to remove greases. Don't use water or any other solvents or cleaners as these may damage the radio.
